Saudi court sentenced on Friday a woman for 180 lashes and 8 months
in prison for on charges of driving a car and attacking security
officers.
SABQ online newspaper said that the security officers [private
right litigants] attended the trial and demanded the enforcement of
laws against the defendant.
According to the newspaper, the defendants appealed the ruling. Her
appeal was overturned by the Attorney General, the ruling was approved
by the Court of Appeal and turned to executive authorities for
enforcement.
The newspaper did not mention the name or the identity of the
suspect. Saudi Authorities did not issue an official statement regarding
the case.
