Israeli opposition chairwoman Zahava Gal-On said that the Israeli
government has to accept Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas'
initiative to be announced next week, an Israeli news website reported
yesterday.
She also called upon the government to stop the policy of separation between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
"We have to recognise the restrictions and borders of power," she
said. She noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had
communicated a message to Hamas and the Palestinian resistance that they
can forcefully achieve their goals.
Gal-On stressed that the Palestinian resistance had achieved a big dream through the expulsion of settlers in Gaza periphery.
She also severely criticised the Israeli government, accusing it of
ignoring the Israeli settlers in the south of Israel who live in
settlements along the Gaza periphery. She said the government had
committed all possible mistakes.
