Egyptian minister for religious affairs in the coup government,
Mohamed Mokhtar Jomaa, has banned the Friday prayer in mosques with an
area of less than 80 Sqm in Egypt.
The ban has already taken effect in several governorates in the
country. It started five weeks ago in the city of Banha in
Al-Qalyoubiyya Governorate and caused mass congestion in large mosques,
which expressed their anger over the ban.
