The Islamic Christian Commission in Support of Jerusalem and Holy Sites announced on Monday Israel’s intentions to build 321 new settlers homes in East Jerusalem.
The new homes which will include a religious school will be constructed at the Palestinian neighborhood of Shikh Jarah outside the wall of the old city.
Dr. Hasan Khater, co-founder of The Islamic Christian Commission in Support of Jerusalem and Holy Sites, told the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency that he hold documents stating that Israeli plans to demolish Palestinian homes to build those news homes.
The Islamic Christian Commission in Support of Jerusalem and Holy Sites says the new settlement will be funded by the American Jewish millionaire Irving Moskowitz.
Situation remains tense in Jerusalem. Over the week end settlers marched though the Silwan Palestinian Neighborhood in East Jerusalem. 30 Palestinians were injured when they tried to stop the settlers. Soldiers used tear gas and rubber coated bullets against Palestinians.
